About this course.

Editing is just as important as lighting and composition, and for most photographers, it’s the missing piece.

People spend years learning lenses, settings, and gear, but never discover the simple, practical editing decisions that make an outdoor portrait feel balanced, intentional, and alive.

In this workshop, I show you exactly how I edit each of these images from start to finish, in real time and in my own style. No presets. No plugins. No shortcuts disguised as solutions.

What You’ll Learn:

• How to build depth and separation across different outdoor lighting conditions
• How I create colour harmony and mood without over-editing
• How I handle skin tones naturally in harsh light, shade, or cloudy conditions
• How to balance contrast and tone so the portrait feels expressive and cohesive
• How I structure an outdoor edit from start to finish, and how to adapt that structure to your own photos

This isn’t a workshop about copying settings or matching slider values; it’s about learning to see what the image needs, and making intentional decisions that hold up across any outdoor environment.

Everything is demonstrated in real time using real images and real decisions. No jargon, no gimmicks, just a clear, reliable way of editing outdoor portraits with mood, clarity, and intention.

All edits in this workshop are demonstrated in Lightroom Classic, with occasional finishing work in Photoshop.

About RAW Files

This workshop does not include downloadable RAW files. That’s intentional; the goal is to teach you the thinking and decision-making behind the edit so you can apply it to your own photographs. All techniques translate directly to any outdoor lighting situation, and you don’t need my RAW files to achieve the same results.
